Visiting friends in Camelas, I booked this before we flew for a celebration lunch for four. Their website is very good and we booked for a lunch at 1.00pm. Not sure our booking had worked as they were a bit quizzical when we arrived but in two tics, a table for 4 was laid, a jug of water and some olives were on the table and a thoroughly good lunch started from there. Three of us ate from the fixed menu and one a la cart. The local red, from Bellavista which is just up the road, was fabulous as was the Sancerre. On a cold January weeknight our favorite Perpignan restaurant was not open. So we went to nearby Thuir and what a wonderful introduction to a with-it storefront restaurant that gets everything right. We ordered two menus both with a succulent supreme of chicken main course. The chicken was tender and tasteful, cooked perfectly with turnips and puree of celery root. Our appetizers were (1) fried rolls (cromesquis) of head cheese and (2) black lentils. The wine list has about 30 selections including 5-6 50cl bottles. Service was attentive and prompt. We visited this restaurant and had high expectations. We were note disappointed. Thuir is a nice village and close to city center, the restaurant is easy to reach. Interior is modern, stylish and welcoming. We had the daily lunch menu. Very fresh food with local ingredients. The team takes care of its guests, not overdoing the attention. Certainly worth 4stars at tripadvisor. We will come back for more!
