Sooooo...I was recently discussing Ariake with some friends and while we all agree that Ariake is a quality sushi Japanese cuisine spot, they disagree on the overall rating. Their opinion was on the 3 star scale, while I deem it worthy of an overall 4 star rating. And surprisingly, one of their points of contention (if you will) is that Ariake is not an authentic Japanese restaurant. You know, James...this place is Korean owned, so how good can it be? I recently went to this restaurant for an early dinner with a friend and was very impressed with the service. The staff were all friendly and attentive. We ordered a variety of dishes including regular sashimi, nigiri, sushi rolls, fried oysters, shumai, and miso soup. The sushi was fresh, though some of the fish had a slight fishy smell and taste. The dumplings were not my favorite, but overall it was a positive experience. I would definitely return and recommend this restaurant to others.
This is my favorite sushi restaurant in NoVA. Quality service here is consistently amazing. You really can’t find melt-in-your-mouth fish like this anywhere else in the area! They source their fish directly from markets in Japan and you can taste the difference.Our go-to orders are the Toro power roll, Florida Roll, and their salmon toro nigiri. Also recommend their omakase experience if you want try to a little bit of everything.
Great spot to pop in for a comfortable dinner with the whole family after a day. Location is perfect. Lot of parking. Honestly I don't remember how many times I had Omakase in Ariake Fairfax. I think more than 7 times. Quality was excellent and service top-notch. And they have a good selection of sake to pair with the food as well. My only complaint is that they use to allow us to order the omakase to go, but no longer do.

We've been wanting to try this place out for some time! The food and service were great. The fish was very fresh and cleaned very well. My only little issue was I wish they had more raw fish speciality rolls on the menu- many of them were cooked or deep fried rolls. I really liked they had a cute little silicon fish plate for the little kids which my toddler really liked. The restaurant is very spacious and clean.
This is by far my favorite place to eat. The sushi is incredibly fresh and everything on the menu is delicious. Their rolls and nigiri are some of the best I've ever had, making me eager to come back for more. The staff is exceptional, especially Jacob who always makes me feel welcome. I admire their hard work and dedication. Ariake, you have won my heart! Food: 5/5.
This sushi restaurant is an absolute gem. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by a welcoming ambiance and friendly staff. The sushi itself was a masterpiece, fresh and beautifully presented. The menu offered a delightful variety of rolls sashimi, and omakase. One of the best sushi restaurants in Nova.
This restaurant is amazing. It's always busy, but the food is absolutely delicious. It's worth the wait. However, if you're going to order a draft beer, I suggest getting a small size as there's not a big difference with the large size and the price is double. Overall, I would rate the food 5 out of 5.

Wednesdays are often un-busy at 5 or so. Service is often good and sometimes ditzy as hell.
