NOT RECOMMENDED! AVOID!! We visited Aristo Cafe Mediterranean restaurant located at 310 E Grand Ave #110, El Segundo, CA 90245, for lunch and had a disappointing experience. We ordered the Tri-Tip Shawarma Plate and the Chicken Shawarma Plate. Both the beef and chicken were excessively salty, overcooked, and heavily over-seasoned. The food was unhealthy and not safe to consume! (See pictures). The beef was of very low quality, packed with tough fat, and thoroughly over-seasoned and burned. It was absolutely horrible and unappetizing! The vegetables were also overloaded with salt, charred, and poorly cooked. (See pictures). I really enjoyed the Cauliflower salad here and became a regular customer, buying it from time to time. One day, I went in to get some food, and the owner, who was with another person, told me that the food wasn't fresh that day and suggested I come back tomorrow. I was taken aback and asked him what he meant by that. He apologized and said he was just looking out for me, but insisted that I return the next day. I was so shocked! He had never treated me that way before. So, I ended up getting food next door at Ensenada's and sat outside, where I saw a family walk in and get served without any issues. I never went back after that experience.
The food at this restaurant is exceptional. The owner offers generous servings, and the flavors are remarkable. Each Kabob plate comes with homemade hummus, rice, salad, pita bread, and vegetables, and you can choose from chicken, beef, lamb, or salmon. The prices are excellent too! If you love healthy Mediterranean cuisine, this is the spot for you. You won't be let down.
I recently visited the restaurant and wanted to try the lamb kabob, but they were out of it, so I ordered a burger instead. I didn't have high expectations, but once I took a bite, everything changed. The burger was delicious and surprisingly light. I also tried their dessert, which left me wanting more. Absolutely amazing! The vegetables were fresh, and the meat was juicy and tender. I ordered a beef kebab wrap along with sides of hummus and falafel. The flavor of the beef is unlike anything I've experienced elsewhere. I highly recommend this restaurant! The only downside is that there's no restroom available. Lol!
Wow! This restaurant was an unexpected find, and I was really impressed. I ordered the gyros, and I regret not taking any pictures because I devoured it so quickly! The food is absolutely delicious, fresh, and generous in portions. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I will definitely be returning.
