Warning to anyone considering a visit to this place on a Friday night with friends: be wary of those around you. A close friend of mine was roofied at Around the Corner last night and had to be taken to the hospital after someone spiked her drink while we were in the karaoke room. While Around the Corner can be a fun and enjoyable place if you stay alert, this experience shows that the same could happen to you if you choose to visit this venue for drinks. The atmosphere later in the evening is loud, crowded, and uncomfortable, often filled with unaccompanied men, and there seems to be a lack of oversight from staff members. If I could give a 0 star review I would. We were celebrating a friend’a birthday out on the patio, started around 7. We stepped out around 11, when we came back to the door the security told my husband he wasn’t dressed appropriately… while wearing a nice T-shirt, dress shorts, and nice shoes. AFTER we had just been out on their patio spending money for hours! This ignorant “security guard” proceeded to let other men in with normal graphic tees in. To add context the bar was dead… and the DJ was horrible. Save yourself time and go out in the Flats.
If I could give this place zero stars, I absolutely would. I visited a good friend in the area for the weekend after a long time, and I had a terrible experience. Upon arrival, the staff accused us of having fake IDs and threatened to take our cards. It wasn’t until someone called the police that they "graciously" returned our IDs. We faced harassment from multiple security guards while trying to retrieve them. The whole situation was handled in a completely unprofessional and rude manner. Save your money and go somewhere else.
I was interested in trying this restaurant because I enjoy exploring new places, but I came across a concerning review. I'd like to get an update from the company: is it true that your staff allows theft from customers and then responds poorly when customers attempt to address the issue?

Me and two of my friends went here from michigan got denied for having “fake” ids. Horrible service and bouncers. As soon as we called the cops they willingly gave us back our ids, as a “favor”. The entire staff was rude to us and unprofessional.
This was my first time going and I recommend it to everyone. Everyone was nice ans friendly. The servers were so considerate. Good music, I had fun and I went by myself. Also note worthy is the generous portions of food! Fresh and delicious. ?
Not very clean, broken glass on the ground no one cared to clean it when told. Hopefully no one with sandals kicks glass and has to sue for medical expenses.
Nice outdoor seating in the back. Can be a little loud. Kitchen open until 11pm which is later than most in the area. Received lovely service from Alyssa.
