We are from Chicago and very picky about our Italian food. This is one of the few great places we have found with truly good Italian. An Italian cousin was in town and eats out all over the country and he said it was the best fish he had ever had (he had the special which was some sort of flaky white fish and mussels) all 5 of us really like our dinner (white fish special with veggies and red sauce, chicken cordon bleu, chicken parmesan and canneloni di carne). Atmosphere is ok, I would call it upscale casual (Jeans, business casual or business attire). If you are looking for dinner outside under the stars this is not it. This restaurant prioritizes big parties and makes the small tables wait on their food. It was 1 hr and 20 mins from order to seeing our food on the table. The restaurant didn’t even bother to work on getting the kids food out first or getting us an appetizer or offering anything. By the time we were done eating the restaurant was out of some of the desserts. Honestly what Italian restaurant runs out of Spumoni by Saturday evening?
The food was great. The young waiter could be better. I ordered a coke which I never received. He also paid more attention to my wife then myself. As an older couple the man is the one to make sure things are take care of.
Disappointed with our reception. We stood for at least 5 minutes before we were seated. They were understaffed that night, which was not our fault.
