Ascough's Bistro - Réservation de table

Exquisite food served in a laid-back and welcoming environment. This place is something of a hidden treasure in Market Harborough, renowned in the area for delivering exceptional quality meals at great prices. We had a group of five dining from the Christmas menu, and every dish was nothing short of perfect. During lunch, they only have one seating, which allows for a leisurely but attentive service; we lingered for over two hours savoring three courses. Absolutely delightful. I recommend making a reservation, though.

We had a very pleasant dining experience here. There's a wide selection on the menu here, which changes monthly. The staff are super-friendly, and nothing is too much trouble. The atmosphere is convivial and relaxed. We booked a table for 6pm, and it was lovely to see the restaurant fill up while we dined. By the time we left (we had to free up our table by 8pm) the place was buzzing, but while it was full, it wasn't overly noisy. Will definitely come back, and would highly recommend.

Disappointed Booked a table for three. Decided on taster menu plus wine for the wife and myself. Daughter vegan so wanted a different menu. Chef decided he wouldn’t serve the taster unless the whole table had it. We asked if the daughter did not dine whether we could have the taster. Answer yes. Stupid or what. We left and had a lovely evening at the Waterfront overlooking the canal. M.Smith

This was the first time I had been to Ascough's and I will absolutely be going back. Many people had told me how good it is but it is amazing! We had the taster menu and we could not fault it. Felt like we had a Michelin star meal. The waitress and waiters explained each course every time. The staff are friendly and efficient. Very reasonably priced too. Can't wait to go back again. Going to Ascough's is always a special experience. The food is second to none. Everything is prepared and presented beautifully. The staff are great. Good value too considering the quality of the meal and ingredients, and all that must go into preparing it. Always a treat highly recommended.

The food here was absolutely spot on. Perfect balance of fancy food that leaves you feeling completely full (after their 3 course dinner menu). Staff were brilliant, and even though we only had a 2 hour booking, they never made us feel rushed, so very pleasant environment. Great value too.

if things would taste half as good as they look they would be acceptable, unfortunately that's not the case. typical example of form over substance. meat was overcooked and everything was just too salty and just not right. for £50 per person you would expect way more. pity
