"This was the first time I had ever visited the restaurant. All I can say about this place was WOW!!! As soon as I walked in someone greeted me and was seating me right away. Our server was very polite and patient with us since it was our first time being there. She answered all our question we had about their food and really down to earth! The food came out hot and delicious! I will definitely make the 2 hour drive to bring my family up there to try it."

I went to lunch to visit my cousins at the Ashford House last Sunday. I liked the overall feel with lots of families and seniors.I ordered the Corned Beef Reuben with fries. The corned beef was outstanding, so lean and just the right amount of acceptable fat around the edges. The Ashford House gets their meats from next door at the Winston Market that has the freshest meats and other items. My sister ordered a Cottage Pie similar to Shepherd's Pie, she said it was a real disappointment, the meat looked like pulled pork not chunks of beef. In fairness, the portion was very generous but not very appetizing. She said she would order something else next time. My other sister ordered a Reuben and...

Nice place inside, our waitress was new but nice. Some of the other waitresses were a little upset about having to wait on people outside while is was raining and they were vocal about it. We can understand why, but this shouldn't have been over heard by the customers. Food was so so. Scrambled eggs arrived cold, pancakes where dry tasting. The large cup of orange juice was rather small and when we asked about the size of a small we were told it was a shot glass size. I just want to say that is absolutely ridiculous. The steak skillet was good. But unfortunately there just were not enough positive things to say so we most likely wont be back.

I highly recommend going to Winston's Market to get the great-tasting Irish food yourself to enjoy anywhere else but here. The waitress Dawn had such a poor attitude. She was so rude whenever we asked a question. There were four tables total (two people at each), but you would have thought she had a whole other banquet room to attend to with the way she acted. It was an inconvenience to her to ask how big a certain appetizer was and the price of a cheeseburger. It was actually shocking how she had responded. I have been here years ago with a completely different experience, but personnel changes can make quite the difference.

My father is 95 years Old country Irish. He is set in his ways and wanted a certain table and the hostess went out of her way to make sure he was comfortable even though he picked the biggest table and there was only two of us. I will not take my father to any other restaurant because he is not afraid to say if he is not happy at a restaurant and he has been At the Ashford House at least eight times and has not complained yet. I have never given a review I do not like to go on social media but the way we were treated today I wanted to let everyone know that our hostess and waitress has patients and the food is good
