The food was absolutely delicious. We chose a few mezze options, including hummus, kisir (couscous), and sarma (vine leaf rolls). For the main course, I had the stuffed aubergine (imam bayaldı), while my partner enjoyed the vegetarian guvec. Each dish was flavorful and beautifully presented. We loved it so much that we wanted to return for another evening, but unfortunately ran out of time. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in the area. Lovely restaurant in the Main Street in Cockermouth. The owner and his wife as well as their service are friend and helpful. The food was very good! Having just been in Turkey 6 months ago, I must say the food in this restaurant was better than in Turkey. We ordered a few starters and mains and everything was absolutely delicious! My personal favorites were: sigara boregi (filo pastry rolls filled with feta), Ali nazik kebab (lamb kebabs on a bed of aubergine and pepper yogurt). The food was outstanding, earning a perfectly deserved 5 out of 5. The service was equally impressive, with attentive staff who made sure everything was just right. Came here for dinner last week and found it a bit underwhelming. The staff and service wasn't particularly inspiring most of the staff seemed pretty unhappy and didn't really seem like they wanted to be there, one member of staff however (who was maybe the owner) was very welcoming. I visited the new location for the first time and I'm pleased to say they have successfully maintained all the great aspects of the old restaurant while creating a lovely new environment. The food was excellent. For our lunch, we found the experience to be top-notch across the board: Food: 5, Service: 5, Atmosphere: 5. The cost per person was around £20–30.
Fantastic restaurant with excellent staff and delicious food! I dined in for dinner and found it to be a wonderful experience. The price per person was around £30-40, which felt reasonable for the quality. I would rate the food a solid 5, the service also a 5, and the atmosphere deserves a 5 as well. Highly recommended!
