We paid over per person to get ridiculed. First, when we were sitting, someone from the table behind us threw a glass of wine on me, they were super drunk and they immediately got up and escaped (laughing). No one stopped them. I was soaking wet and it even got to our coats. Then, a tattooed waitress with glasses came and asked for our ids (we are all over and laughed at us and said “I can’t accept these ids” and told us they were fake. She then went next to her friends and they all caused a scene, analyzing us, trying to figure out whether we are underage or not. After a very snarky concierge checkin who insisted of a party of couldn't be seated until the last arrived, then told we had to order immediately for the if we were seated, I was ready to go to one of the myriad other great restaurants nearby. Luckily we didn't, and after we ordered food and waited minutes before asking if someone could take our drink order, the meat feast arrived and was a hit. Don't know how the service and attitude merits a Michelin star but my guests loved it and we would all return.
Our first visit to Cote was a memorable one. The Korean barbecue style of cooking on the grill at our table was really fun. Our servers were so great, personable and knowledgeable about all of the interesting dishes. The four of us had the butchers feast, which included several types of steak, cooked perfectly by our servers. The Korean side dishes and sauces accompanying the steak were so delicious. Cote really is a perfect place to celebrate a special occasion.
We loved everything about Cote!! Tried to get in here the last time I was in NYC but could not get a reso. Now I know why. I’m gluten free and they accommodated without issue. Come here! It’s worth it! If you have time after or before your meal venture downstairs for a drink. Equipped with living walls and chill vibe. Trust me, just do it!
