II have now been to this restaurant/café three times, Hot chocolate, leaves a lot to be desired. First time the chocolate was warm enough that I drank it in a couple of minutes. Second time was last week 10th Jan 2017 I asked for a hot chocolate not a luke warm one and definitely not with an over sized choc button on top putting 100's and 1000's into my drink. (Kid's stuff). Meal was fine, eggs quite undercooked. Went there again on Monday as my 5 year old grandson wanted waffles. Sadly there weren't any waffles, nor pancakes that were listed on the menu. I read the review on broadsheet, and although I'm not a real local, decided to try it out.It's a refereeing place among tired and rundown strip of shops. The service was ok. Menu items looked current and interesting. The food was beautifully served and delicious, however, portion sizes way too small. I've ordered the fritters and got 2 50c coin sized fritters with eggs and a small handful (more like half handful) of sweet potato chips.All our 6 meals were delicious however was in the opinion that serving sizes were on the stingy side.The coffee was great, as expected from 5 senses coffee brew.All in all, great place for brekky in the suburbs. Came for late breakfast at 10am on Sunday. Tables available not too busy. Offered coffee which I requested to be hot and strong. It arrived neither hot nor strong. We both ordered smashed avocado, me with a side of mushrooms. The side was $4 for 4 mushrooms! Food was tasty, 1 poached egg provided which was nicely cooked. At 11:20am we requested more coffee but were told they were cleaning the coffee machine so no coffee for about 1/2 an hour! At 11:50am we asked whether we could order coffee, but the machine was still being cleaned. What kind of cafe cleans their machine at this time of the day with a restaurant full of patrons? Ok so it's a big call but I personally think this is one of the best brunch places I've been too. The menu is amazing - I've been twice but have a feeling I'll keep coming until I've tried everything. So far I've had the smashed avocado and corn fritters with chorizo - flavor and presentation of both were fantastic. Would love to try one of the smoothies (and the pulled pork taco) but the serving sizes are generous and haven't been able to fit one in. The staff are also very accommodating. Highly recommended.

Love this place after several visits. I have taken both my young children here and they are very happy with the pancakes/waffles and fruit. They also love the normal size milkshake with honeycomb on top.My favourite is the noodle salad with beef. I have also had the superfood salad which was beautiful except I had it with the chicken but there was lots of gristle. That was my first meal of many there they didn't come up to scratch, but as I said the salad was fine it was just the chicken.
My daughter mentioned a cafe we hadn't tried so on our way home we called into Astroluxe. It was a late lunch so the cafe was nice and quiet. We were served quickly and enjoyed a delicious late lunch as the photos show. The salsa underneath my dish was sensational and complimented the dish so well. Coffee was just how we like it and I would love to go back. It's situated just off a main road so easily accessible.

Love Astroluxe. Delicious and consistently good coffee, nice menu selections with varied options. Cool and comfortable setting, does attract families so be prepared for that on a weekend morning, but worth it for the food and also great service. It is clear they are professionals who I thank for bringing their expertise to a suburb that needed it.

We just went here for breakfast, my husband thought the eggs with chilis were the best he ever had! I had the breakfast salad and loved it too! Our little one enjoyed a waffle with banana ice cream, this place is a real winner! Such a great little spot!
Come here often as of the lovely food and staff. The drinks are just as well as presented as the food. Would defiantly recommend if your travelling or just looking for a nice cafe in Bentleigh East.
