Atenas Playa - Réserver une table

By the time we realised that Atenas Playa had moved location from the beach up to the end of La Barossa, we were over half way through our holiday. With family coming out for our last week, we tried to book and evening which was unavailable but got a reservation for 10 of us in a 3.30 lunch spot. Wanting to give our guests (all British, but one of which speaks fluent Spanish) we reviewed the reviews and were quite apprehensive about the booking as there were many negative comments. The general consensus was to give it a go. Oh my God, I'm so glad we did. This was one of the best afternoons we have had in recent years in La Barossa. I'm not sure where others were reviewing but we found the staff pleasant, helpful and very efficient. The food was really, really good and we thought good value for money, as were the wines and drinks. The entertainment, female DJ (a bit Amy Winehouse) and her accompanying saxophonist were excellent, as was the duo of Spanish guitarist and keyboard. Needing us to vacate our table we asked for other seats and were allowed into the VIP area next to the DJ booth, available until 9.30, but were not hurried out when the time came. A fab afternoon evening great experience all round and now we know, we will certainly be making some advance reservations next summer. 10 out of 10 for team Atenas Playa

We cannot share the bad opinion some people here express about the service. We were here for lunch, served by Alejandro, he was quick, friendly and efficient. The prices are not low, but then, this is not a chiringuito. In every country one pays more in a restaurant than in an beach snack bar. And in hardly any restaurant in Andalusia will you get warm food before 20.00 or even later. So, we went for lunch (advice: go midweek, and come early, around 13.00, then it will be quiet, as the Spanish will arrive around 15.00... , got excellent black rice, lovely wine, nice starters (nobody here makes a face if you share every course between you, plates are big enough! . We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The only reason we give 4 stars and not 5 is the horrible pop music they blared through the loud speakers. This is such a relaxing place, wonderfully decorated, full of nature, inviting to relax why the need for cheap party music in the middle of the day? No music, or some relaxing, soft background music would be so much better!

We have been in this place for dinner twice and we absolutely do not share some rather bad recent comments on Tripadvisor. The place is spectacular, the service (Mario) extremely friendly and the food was excellent, namely the fresh fish (lubina). Hemos estado en este lugar para cenar dos veces y absolutamente no compartimos algunos comentarios recientes bastante malos en Tripadvisor. El lugar es espectacular, el servicio (Mario) extremadamente amable y la comida era excelente a saber el pescado fesco (lubina).

I absolutely love this place, atmosphere is amazing especially around sunset. Music and saxophonist as sunsets. Drinks are a bit pricey and so is food but it’s definitely worth a visit

He came here every evening to watch the sunset and to have cocktails. Great place, good drinks and friendly staff. And a great place to watch the sun go down.
