Au Pre Du Lac - Réserver une table

We stopped by this restaurant on our road trip in France. Beautiful lake and restaurant patio looked so inviting, so we decided to have a lunch there. As we have a habit to use the washrooms and wash our hands before our meal, we kindly asked the lady in the restaurant (I believe the supervisor), where we can find the toilets. To our surprise, she answered: This is a private property. This unwelcoming attitude made us loose our appetite instantly, and decided to have lunch in some more guest-friendly place. The lady did not forget to ask 50 cents for toilet use, which was so ridiculous and childish. When reading other reviews in French for this restaurant, I can see many similar comments. Still, the attitude of the staff did not change a bit. I suggest the lady to change the job and make a place to someone else...

We would like to thank the staff, Pierre in particular for their help when we found ourselves without our van that we were travelling and sleeping in en route to Le Tour de France, forcing a prolonged stay. We were fortunate to stay in one of the cabins overlooking the lake with beautiful views, making our difficult situation far easier. We also had a fantastic meal at the restaurant and were really impressed with the facilities on site. Thankyou Pierre for your superb English and good luck in your next year at Glasgow University.

If you travel along the N85 The Route Napoleon very close to the 45 Parallel you should definitely stop by the Restaurant Pre Du Lac. Apart from offering a great view of the Lac Laffrey the kitchen has a lot to offer. We first discovered the place going south from Grenoble en route to the Midi and were convinced that we should stay here once more. We stopped on the way back north and were once again delighted at the food and the good wine. Lizzi and Finn

Small restaurant with a terrace directly on the lake de Laffrey with a beautiful view . The food was good. Good place for lunch in a sunny day
