On previous visits to Brittany whilst staying in nearby Roscoff and exploring the area my wife and I found this charming restaurant on the coast near to the town of St Pol de Leon. The restaurant is charming, the food excellent and the service very good. After a very good midweek lunch decided to book a table for Sunday lunch and chose a fixed price menu which included a very good choice of starters, main dishes, a cheese plate and desserts. We both chose oysters as a starter, two different fish dishes as main courses, two different cheese dishes and desserts. The food was tasty, well presented and the service attentive. A restaurant which we will visit again when in Roscoff and highly recommended for good food, presentation and service

Despite the view on the Bay (and the R/A , we ordered 2 appetizers and 1 Kids Menue (10€ to end up with a 75€ Bill… quite a rip off… We had the Foie Gras (15€ which was excellent but 15€ for the slice and 3 little bits of lettuce is way too much. We had the Fraicheur de Crabe (crab meat with celery root. In my opinion there were no crab meat… it taste like celery and with 2 forks the portion is gone. White wine (Sancerre was tasty and the Chocolate Mousse was great. But at the End, I should have paid 45 max… you can’t overprice your dishes because of the view… you have to deliver!

We went for lunch before catching the ferry home and it was a really great way to end our break in Brittany. We wouldn’t have found it but our “usual” place was full however any disappointment was quickly forgotten on arrival at Au Quai Des Iles. The welcome was warm and genuine. The menu was imaginative, offered good choice and was well priced. When the food arrived it was excellent and the service throughout the meal faultless. We will certainly plan to visit again.

We were staying overnight at Camping Trologot, it took us 10 minutes to walk here and was well worth it. We hadn’t booked but would suggest you do as it was very busy. I had Mussel soup, specialty sausage a creme brûlée all for €22, it was all superb, my husband had lamb, cheese and an assorted plate of desserts for €35. Staff were fantastic, lovely setting, we would definitely return if we had more nights here.
