to discover a place. a table where it is good to stop. host that we regret to go and that we are happy to find. everything here is true that they have a great time. the kitchen is simple and tasty. very good products well presented and a remarkable quality/price ratio (35€/person for a 3-course menu a bottle of a very interesting local wine.) charming and attentive host who have kept this hospitable for 50 years. a lot of energy and ease for an efficient service. finally a magical place in the middle of the landscape. a few kilometers to go through the fields, but what a pleasure to enjoy the terrace under the trees or the vaulted room. to discover.
10 minutes from gignac over half a dozen weinberge they come to l’arbalete. at the end of the stretch you will reach a stunning vaulted building that is shielded by trees. among them are tables where they swear, they can mutually clark gable and carol lombard toasting. this place must be the inspiration for hotel california. the kitchen is legendary, the reception is warm and genuine and the environment directly from hemingway.
Un lieu atypique par son environnement donc perdu mais un intérieur d'une grande beauté, on se croirait dans un château médiéval. Les apparences sont trompeuses mais l'histoire, racontée par le propriétaire, n'est qu'un travail fabuleux quand on se rend compte de la quantité de travail... Très bon repas, le tout fait maison et à un prix très raisonnable. Merci pour votre accueil...
we found this place en route from cassis to riom and had a delicious lunch in the delightful shade. we had the menu @20 with rabbit main compartments with senf and pintard (specials of the day) plus a pichet rosé and coffee, all for under 50 euro. we were the only diners, a welcome change on a busy day on the streets. the roythm of lunch was also perfect, friendly and not too fast.
