We used to visit this restaurant a lot, we always had good food and service. We haven’t been for a while so were looking forward to the meal. First impressions count, our glasses were dirty, there was lipstick and mouth marks around all of the glasses on the table so we had to get them changed. The amuse bouche arrived and the dishes were badly chipped. The starter was fois gras, the portion size has shrunk and it was a very small sliver of fois gras on the plate! We ordered the Tornedos and normally this is one nice thick slice of steak, instead they had put 2 thin slices on top of each other so it was overcooked, the potatoes had so much nutmeg that it made it unpleasant to eat, it left a lasting taste. Normally a carafe of water is put on the table, not today. We had to ask 4 times for water (trying to get their attention was almost impossible, they have a way of looking past you) and their ice machine had broken down so it wasn’t cold, the ice bucket containing the white wine didn’t have any ice so again warm white wine. It was an extremely hot day hence the need for the cold water. Two older ladies were sitting close by, they struggled to walk as they left the restaurant and the 2 female waitress made jokes about them behind their backs as they left (we speak French) not at all professional and extremely rude. I chose the sorbet for dessert, it stated 3 boules on the menu, I only got 2 but smothered in Chantilly to cover it all up, my husband just wanted ice cream and received 2 small boules of a cheap vanilla ice cream we were charged full price for the menu but it was all sub standard and the staff have really let them down badly.
