We enjoyed the food that we had; it was well cooked and presented, the moelleux au chocolat was especially good. But several things prevented it from being a great experience. The main dishes were hearty meats in sauce, no vegetables, freezer chips cooked in duck fat with everything. Tasted nice at the time but I felt queasy for the rest of the day having swallowed so much animal fat. We would have liked to sit outside and so would other customers but there was limited outdoor seating, despite there being plenty of room (not due to social distancing, the few outdoor tables were grouped near each other, more tables and chairs were stored indoors) . My favourite restaurant in the entire world. We have been going here regularly for over 10 years, and has always been fantastic! Richard is a fabulous chef and host. Staff are lovely and the setting in the Bethmale valley is wonderful. Straightforward menu, cooked to perfection Entrecôte, duck breast, frites, foie gras all really tasty. Often adds specials according to the season really love the Oeuf cocotte and l’os a Moelle. Highly recommend!
Nous avons découvert ce restaurant pendant nos vacances l'année dernière et nous avons été tellement impressionnés que nous avons fait un détour spécial pour y retourner! La cuisine est fantastique, la vue depuis la terrasse du restaurant est époustouflante et le personnel est très sympathique. Les portions sont très généreuses (Entrecôte de 350g) et superbement cuisinées. Nous y retournerons certainement!
Ma femme et moi nous sommes arrêtés pour déjeuner dans cet endroit et la première chose qui a attiré notre attention était le grand sourire de la serveuse. De là, ça ne fait qu'aller mieux. La nourriture était simple mais délicieuse, accompagnée d'un joli rosé. Nous nous sommes assis dehors sur la terrasse et avons vraiment apprécié l'un des meilleurs repas que nous avons eu pour notre argent.

We regularly recommend this restaurant to our guests as it delivers excellent meals and having eaten there on numerous times, we have never been disappointed. The plat de jour offers good value and their frites are rather nice. Eating on the terrace is especially nice in good weather. Lake Bethmale which is a few kilometres beyond is well worth a visit whilst in the area.
Très bon repas bien installés à l ombre en terrasse. Formule à 33 euros très correcte, foie gras en entrée plat desser. Les frites maison sont une tuerie, bien fines et croustillantes. Les boissons sont à des prix très compétitifs. Bref, adresse incontournable du couserans.
Je cherchais un restaurant à Castillon-en-Couserans et par chance, j'ai trouvé ce restaurant. C'est un endroit très agréable pour manger des produits frais à un prix très raisonnable. Je recommande cet endroit !
great food and staff. everyone loves the shared mountain of home made chips cooked in duck fat. there's an Ariegois costume museum on site too. incredible views
