The timing of our food delivery was as follows: Arrived at 7.30 as reserved After 25 minutes politely requested assistance with order. Waitress Insisted it was done sequentially in order of arrival. Drinks arrive at 8pm Took the order 37 mins after arrival First course arrived 8.20 No service or attention or provision of anything between 8.20 and 9.30 later arrivals were served before us Main course arrived 9.35 Fromage frais at 10.03 Tried to get dessert order in at 10.15 waitress shrugged shoulders and walked off. (one of the waiting staff was very disdainful the others were stiffly polite) Quit at 10.30 at refusal to take dessert order. When paying the bill suggested that 3 hours was too long for the meal the lady of the house met it with a blank stare. I enquired on foot of that did she think I was being impatient to which she replied yes. So have listed details for people to decide for themselves. In fairness the first course pasta dish was excellent and they gave us more of it as they felt the children had been given small portions. And my coquille st Jacques were superbly cooked. The main beef dish was more middle of the road but the beef itself was very tender. The wine suggestions were very good. But 3 hours for 2.5 courses in 34 degrees heat and especially not one whisper of communication for 1 hour 10 mins between starter and main course is not my typical meal experience. So good food but you will be doing a lot of waiting for it and locals and hotel guests will get the edge in terms of delivery.
Un bel endroit. vraiment sympa de se détendre. Très bien situé. Petit week-end avec mon ami. J'ai été agréablement surpris. la chambre est décorée avec beaucoup de goût, le sens du détail. J'apprécie l'approche éco responsable. nous sentons la passion des propriétaires par leur travail. Bravo ! Je ne suis pas fan du petit déjeuner dans un hôtel mais je dois dire que la qualité, le choix des produits sont excellents. idem pour le choix de produits de qualité dans la plaque. We visited with family at the reserved time The tree covered garden is really nice. staff is friendly. The first dish (starters) took two hours to be served. It seems the kitchen staff is not fit to manage all tables at a decent rate. I do like a dinner evening to be slow, but this was ridiculous. The food itself was ok, but not something to remember or come back for. We did have a nice evening with the family., but will not visit again. The place also has a hotel which we did not use.
Went here on recommendation. Have to admit a little dubious having read some of the reviews. I needn’t of worried. We had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The food was excellent, especially the foie gras...We chose the Petit Gournand very good value for money. Good choice of wine with varying prices. The service we found just right, nice to not rush, to relax and enjoy each course that was freshly prepared. We will be back. Many thanks.
