Came on the Auberge while out touring; stopped for afternoon coffee and got a warm welcome from Franciose the owner, who speaks pretty good English and nothing 's a problem, happy to explain the menu. This place is very traditional with a log fire-place so big there are seats within either sides of it! Its cosy, warm and friendly, very clean; so welcoming we booked for dinner on my wife 's birthday enjoying some of the very best traditional food we have sampled .....anywhere! (c58€ for 2). The owner cooks to order, uses all local produce including some actually made in the village itself. We also had a lunch there a few days later; again first class (c28€ for 2). Whilst visiting old friends from the UK who now live in nearby Hauterfort they suggested we try the lunch menu here and it proved a good choice on a bright December day. On arrival it looked closed but sure enough just before 1pm it opened up, it sounded like there was a large dinner party there the previous evening and it may have taken its toll on the owner, none the less a welcoming fire was soon ablaze and we were treated to a wonderful 3 course lunch menu in pleasant authentic surroundings, I may never visit again but if you're ever in the area give it a try and you'll be pleasantly surprised.
Nous habitons dans la région mais n'avions jamais été dans ce village auparavant. Nous avons passé une agréable soirée avec des amis hier soir car la nourriture, le service et l'ambiance étaient tous merveilleux. Comme le temps était si beau, nous avons dîné à l'extérieur sur la terrasse à l'arrière où les arbres offrent de l'ombre. La soupe à l'ail ne doit pas être manquée, elle était divine. Nous y retournerons certainement.
We sat outside o the terrace and had a delightful meal and good wine. Very friendly service and lots of locals also eating there. It was local food, fresh ingredients and superbly cooked. The owner speaks good English and was very attentive. We were staying in the village at Chapeau (sadly would not reccomend), so unlikely to have chance to visit again unless we find better accomodation.

We have had lunch twice here in the last few weeks, and each meal has been very good and excellent value for money. The second time we went with a friend, and were pleased that he enjoyed it too. As well as good food there is a very warm welcome. First time we sat outside under the vines, the second in the bar area. There is also a larger restaurant. We will certainly be going back.
Nous y revenons et nous revenons avec les amis, nous apportons les amis du passage. court ce restaurant mérite d'être connu! Vous vous sentez comme à la maison, vous mangez bien, de la maison, du local, tout pour un prix plus que raisonnable. L'atmosphère est confortable dans un monde finement chiné. L'accueil est toujours chaud et nous aimons rester là jusqu'au digestif!
Quel délicieux restaurant dans un cadre exceptionnel. Nous avons adoré le menu, la présentation et la livraison de notre repas. La nourriture était superbe et nous reviendrons. Merci au chef et à tout le personnel!
We ate here for dinner. There terrace is wonderful as it has two big trees that provide the necessary shade in the sweltering heat. The food was also very good. The staff was also friendly and helpful.

C'est un charmant restaurant, mais il est desservi par son menu très limité. La nourriture est correcte, parfaitement acceptable mais nous ne reviendrons pas, décevant !
