Auberge St Maclou

I love everything about this place. The neighborhood, the location, the staff and of course the food. Each dish is carefully and pleasantly presented and so delicious. The price, especially if you go for the menu, is completely fair for the quality of ingredients and the overall experience. I've been there three times in the last few months and never get tired of it. Give it a try when in Rouen and you will not be disappointed.

Service was exceptional here (balance of snark and humor from a gentleman waiter). I recommend outside seating as inside is kind of crammed. The food was good overall. The disappointment was the fish served as mushed white fish battered and lightly sautéed. Couldn't tell it was fish. I tasted the veal and I definitely had plate envy. Dessert sampler with espresso was delightful.

Lovely food the lamb was tender! I spoke in French and the waiters couldn't understand a word I said. The ordering thing was a bit wierd as you had to scan a code on the table to get the menu. But not for the specials on the board. Make your mind up!

I loved this place. Set menu was really and kids meal was really impressive. The host was very helpful in explaining the menu as we do not speak French. Very recommended.

Beautiful and great tasting French food. Recommended to visit this place when in Rouen. Friendly waiters, although English was not so understood.
