My husband and I have gone a few times before and not disappointed. We went this weekend with two other couple and we clearly had a new waitress who was very nice and the rest of the staff was super sweet as well. There were no more carts to hold ourwine bottle bucket so she placed it on the actual floor outside. They placed our appetizer on another couples plate instead andthen when she realized instead of bringing us another one to eat she just said oops they ate yours. My husband and I ordered thesteak to share for two. The steak came sliced already so they clearly can see what they were serving..the pieces were so fattylike not even edible and the side was basically a bowl of 8 French fr...
The location of the restaurant is quite nice, and the staff is polite. However, the food fell short of our expectations; it felt more like elevated pub fare. While I appreciate that pub food can be delicious, given the reputation and pricing at The Willow Inn, we anticipated a higher standard that was not delivered. The oysters we had as a starter were excellent, but the cold cuts and bread were only average at best. Our request for the burgers to be cooked medium or medium-well was declined; we were informed that they could only be served medium rare. Had dinner on the patio for two. Beautiful August evening. Spectacular view of Lake of Two Mountains. It was the meal that was the prize. Everything was absolutely perfect. Including the outstanding service. The creations were like art on the plates. Everything was prepared and served perfectly. The tastes were outstanding. Already want to return to try some of the other menuchoices. Rates beyond the 5 stars we are able to give. Michelin should visit this place. Its a jewel waiting to be discovered.
Excellent service; the staff member really knows her dishes. My boyfriend and I visited to celebrate our anniversary. We opted for the chef's choice, which is $125 per person (both must choose this option). I was a bit hesitant, but decided to give it a try.
