I 'm not from Nacogdoches. The guy at the city visitor center recommended the place. I was a little concerned it might be a Tourist Trap . I can 't say it 's not, but I can say I 'd gladly go back. The atmosphere is casual and fun, but nice enough for date night. The table of ladies next to us were a bit raucous girls night out I guess . We had the shrimp wonton appetizers. They were not what I expected, but they were very good. I 'd recommend them. I had Mama 's Spicy Chicken and Shrimp . It was very good. My son had some kind of combo platter. It was very generous and apparently very good. He didn 't share! . One of my pet peeves is restaurants with lousy beer selection. Auntie Pasta 's has a reasonably good beer list including some local brews. If I recall, the beers I had were from the Fredonia brewery. They were decent beers, but more importantly, I had the opportunity to try a new to me and local brew. Our experience would have been awesome if it were not for the wait. It took way too long to get our food. Maybe if I wanted to drink more like the ladies next door I wouldn 't have noticed. Our waitress apologized for the long wait. She told us there were only two cooks in the kitchen. It was a Tuesday night. My dinner was also not piping hot my son 's was . It may have had to wait on his! If I could give half stars, I 'd probably take half a star away for the wait. On the other hand, if it weren 't for the wait, it might have been 4.5*.
