This restaurant is above average, but not exceptional. I tried a Tom Collins cocktail and it was well-made. For starters, I ordered the grilled oysters and they were excellent. However, I was not impressed with the grilled grouper in tomato broth. The fish was swimming in broth and I felt it would have been better with some mashed potatoes to soak up the flavors. The dish was an unusual combination, which can be hit or miss, and unfortunately it didn't impress me. I did enjoy the cilantro garnish on top though.
Visiting Birmingham and wanted to try some good seafood (even though I?m coming from San Diego??????????? this place is amazing. The atmosphere was good. The service was really good. Our waitress was a very nice lady who kept a very close eye on our table. The food was omg so delicious,perfect consistency,so flavorful and loved watching the chef putting his last touches on the plates before it was getting served. Definitely a place to spend a quality time and enjoy amazing
How can I put this D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S!! ????delicious may be an understatement scrumptious, tasty, mouthwatering, Heavenly, divine MAYBE one of those words will do it justice. The JAMES BEARD award was definitely earned not given. The service was top notch Philip one of the waiters was highly recommended from another great spot ironwood by Alan. Philip wasn't our waiter but he checked In on us as much as our wonderful waitress did and that made the experience even
Such a darling restaurant with a beautiful interior, awesome atmosphere, and great service! Fish and chips were the best we?d ever have (fries were to die for! and the grouper (pictured was amazing. All in all a lovely experience. We didn?t have a reservation tonight (Sunday night around 7 , got in at the oyster bar within 5 minutes. Justin, our server, was super cheerful, attentive, and knowledgeable. We will be back! Réservez une table maintenant
There are lots of surprises on the menu at Automatic. The fried fish collar was a delight, with zingy pickled red onion and a zippy chili butter. Grilled oysters were outstanding. Complex and balanced. Make sure to get the rolls, because everything comes with a sauce and you?ll want to soak up every bit of sauce on any plate set before you. Our server was a delight, and so pleasant to talk to. We?ll be going back.
This place is amazing, the food hear is beautiful, delicious, and worth every penny. I got a simple fish and chips and I was still blow away with how delicious is was. I also sampled the octopus, oysters, tuna tartare, hush puppies and swordfish and everything was amazing. The atmosphere is wonder, and service is always on point. Parking can be a pain due to the location, but it’s not too bad.
They are simply the best. Having the pleasure of speaking with Adam and realizing he understood food in the way i did was such a delight. Cooking is an amazing skill anyone can learn and his restaurant embodies the spirt of exploration and passion that comes with that. I am losing track of how many times I've been but man do I walk away impressed every time.
Beautiful setting! I love the interior. Each dish had a unique touch: literally an amazing, flavorful kick. Applaud to the chefs, Sunday brunch was awesome! Poached egg was on point!
