"We were looking for somewhere nice to eat during our brief stay in Vilers Cotterets. Our hotel owner suggested 'Aux Menus Plaisirs '. We are so pleased he did. This really was our nicest meal for ages possibly ever! This is a friendly, family run place. There is no formality, just a friendly atmosphere and great food. We went for the 'top ' formula, with five courses. Each was another lovely surprise, beautifully cooked and delightfully French. Do visit this restaurant. We shall certainly go again if we are in this area. It really does deserve every encouragement and all success."

A visit to this lovely family run restaurant, is guaranteed an excellent experience. From the moment you arrive, you are comfortable. The atmosphere is genial, nothing is too much trouble for the patrons and their fantastic team. The range and selection of food choice will suit all palettes and wallet's. The food is truly of an excellent quality, tastes delicious (yummy). On this occasion, wild boar was a popular choice amongst our group, very tasty, seasonal vegetables. They make great cocktails, the selection of beers and wine, again excellent. The patron's and their team of staff are exactly what the name of the restaurant states in English a pleasure ! It is a pleasure to visit and enjoy good food, good wine and good company. Highly recommend. If your French is a little rusty, they will try to help and explain in English, it is all part of the fun. Visit, try, enjoy, you really can't go wrong.

Had a great evening at aux menus plaisirs. The food was tasty comfort food, of an excellent quality. All home cooked and beautifully presented. Had the fois gras, delicious, then for my main, sautéed kidneys with a light sauce and purée . My husband had the fish, again beautifully cooked. To finish we both had creme brûlée. Yum. A good selection of wine and whiskey to choose from. The restaurant has very recently moved, the new location is bigger.(have eaten at the old venue). The new location has a bar, with a good friendly atmosphere. The patrons were were warm, welcoming and professional. Nothing was too much. I would recommend a visit. For English speakers, the menus are easy to understand, the staff try to help where they can. For information, the new venue is on the Avenue de Compiègne. Pop in for a drink, a coffee, a meal, have a great evening, make new friends.

In Villers-Cotterets to visit the Alexandre Dumas museum, I asked the guide where I might best snatch a bite to eat for lunch. She insisted that this would be an ideal place to eat but that it might take longer than a snatched bite. She was correct. This is not a place for anyone seeking fast food. On the contrary, this is THE place to come for food that is chosen, prepared and served with grace, talent and respect. It is a family-run restaurant which cares for its clientele, offering a compact menu of first class, locally sourced produce, un fussed by culinary fads. One comes here to eat, and one leaves well fed. The wine list is honestly priced and the menu is too. Not a restaurant that is on the touristic mainline but one not to be missed if one is in the area. It even deserves a significant detour!

Visit this restaurant and sample excellent food, a lovely atmosphere and a real family run restaurant. The patrons are friendly, helpful and their aim is to ensure you enjoy your experience in their family run restaurant. It is clear that they are passionate about their cuisine, lots to choose, at a fair price -Its tradtional French food, tasty and of excellent quality. If you happen to be in the area -between Soissons, Crépy and Compiegne, drop by. The town is the home of the famous Alexander Dumas, the region played a pivotal role in WW1, with the armistice signed in the nearby forest. Stop by for a coffee, a chat, meet the locals. You can't go wrong. Highly recommended.
