A great place to stay if attending the Cartmel races. Rooms aren't massive but if going to the races you don't need a big room. They could do with an upgrade as don't have many standard equipment such as sufficient sockets for plugging in phone chargers, had to unplug the alarm clock which wasn't an issue, just awkward. The public areas/lounge is quaint and bijoux, wonderful if with friends. The manager has a knowledge of local information and stays up late to keep the booze running through the night. The hotel has a charming vintage character, complete with some quirky features, but it also boasts beautiful period architecture that is well-maintained and impeccably clean. There are two cozy relaxation lounges where guests can unwind. The owners and staff are both friendly and efficient, and the breakfast served is generous and cooked to perfection. The only minor drawback is that the bathroom and shower cubicle are somewhat small. However, if you're looking for a pleasant place to stay that’s just a flat walk from Cartmel, I highly recommend it.
We loved everything about Aynsome manor. Large, spotless, quiet and comfortable rooms. Beautiful quiet location with a warm friendly atmosphere. Bathrooms were modern and clean. Breakfast Light bites were superb. Best of all? The owners Chris Andrea two hearts of gold here folks, hard working, kind, professional and caring people who catered for our every need, looked after us and made us all feel so welcome my elderly parents loved it. Loved the historic building. Large,clean rooms with some original features. Beautiful location. Bathroom modern and clean. Staff were very friendly and professional.Excellent tasty breakfast. 15 minute walk from Cartmel village which is very pretty and quaint. I enjoyed a couple of drinks at the bar and was extremely satisfied with the service. I couldn't find anything wrong with the staff; everyone was very courteous, and the Manor and its surroundings are stunning. Thank you very much! There is nothing to criticise about this excellent hotel. The food, accommodation and staff are all of a high standard. It is a short drive from Grange and there is plenty to do in the area from walking to sightseeing. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 4
