My husband, two boys, and I visited this ice cream shop last night after dinner. First, they will only give you one taster, which defeats the purpose of tasters. Then, we did not have cash on us and honestly didn't see the sign that said cash only. Normally, in our experience, when this has happened, the store apologizes and directs us to the nearest ATM.Instead, here, after my kids had ordered their ice creams, my husband went up to the register to pay with his debit card when he saw the sign...my husband said "oh cash only?" The man yelled back "yes there are three signs!!" He continued rudely. Every one in the ice cream shop looked at us. It was sooooo embarassing. My husband asked where...
So... I have had ice cream here on numerous occasions and been happy. THIS time I was with my two very young children, first the man complained about my boys playing with the brochures on the window sill, then about one( 2 years old) briefly standing on the seat on a dry day wearing sandals and then to top of that complained that one was touching the rubbish bin. Honestly I just wanted to leave without finishing our ice cream.If they can't tolerate children then they are in the wrong business. I'm basing this rating on the whole experience and will not be eating there again.
We were recommended this place by a lady in a chocolate shop on the main boulevard in Interlaken. I’m so glad we came here! My fiancé loves ice cream and is something of a connoisseur. We had a small tub each. Mine was chocolate and hazelnut while my partner had pistachio and a nutty choice. Wow! They were so nice. Creamy but not too sweet. Just delicious. Also very inexpensive for Interlaken. If you like authentic, home made ice cream do visit this little gem. Fabulous!
Between all in our party, we tried 14 flavors! We were pigs! Thanks to Trip Advisor we found this place. And the owner is a Hoot to chat with. He goes to the Emmenthal region to get the special milk needed to make the smoothest gelato. And OMG was so smooth and creamy and the flavors are so delicious! His wife is Italian and knows how to stand out! I have to stop here at least once (we stopped twice! Take cash, no credit cards. Réservez une table maintenant
I bring groups of students to Europe each summer. We always get gelato in the cities where we stay - we all agreed that THIS was the BEST gelato we had on the trip. It was creamier and smoother than any other we had tried. Great atmosphere - owner obviously LOVES what he does - you won't regret it - only problem - too many choices of flavors -
