Will NEVER Return. Tonight, I took my husband out for his birthday to Bacchus. We have been there previously and fell in love with the roasted duck with portobello mushrooms in a port wine reduction sauce. I called on Tues. to make a reservation for a party of 5 and was told I didn't need to. During the call I asked was the duck currently on the menu and was told it was but to call back Thurs. to see if it was sold out We had the duck (delish), with ratatoulli (satisfactory), cremini mushrooms (good), and acorn squash with brown sugar and cinnamon (horrible). Another great meal. I logged in today to post a review about our fabulous meal last night and was so surprised to read any negative reviews. We've eaten here a number of times and are always really pleased. Bacchus is rated as three dollar signs, but it's really not very expensive. We had a huge salad 5), the sardine appetizer 8), and the sirloin 22) (we shared everything because portions are huge) and it all came in around 50 bucks. Great Food...Poor Service. Like the other reviews listed, I absolutely love the food and it's a great place to get a great pasta dish for a reasonable price. The portions are huge and I'm thrilled to have leftovers for a day or two. That being said, their awesome food cannot make up for their poor service completely I've held off on writing a review thinking it was just a fluke that we have to wait endlessly both to be seated and to be served. Well, that is apparently par for the course here as it's now happened 3 times in a row with different servers. What happened to this place?. Excited to hit Bacchus again after a year or more during Restaurant Week. While the food, generally, was good as usual, I was appalled at the level of service. I sat at the half-full bar for over 10 minutes before I was acknowledged by anyone. The manager finally gave me a glass of water and a wine list without so much as a word certainly couldn't be bothered to ask me if I'd like a drink. birthday evening dinner the last 5 years!. provided for 7 o'clock Saturday evening dinner. we were 7 minutes too late, but the table was waiting for us, they were very busy! the waitress looked at me, nodded and asked if someone had red meat tonight. an obvious note to the fact that they know my menu settings! as well, from the recognition to a delicious portebello mushroom appetizer to a well cooked steak along with the fresh sweet of the whole evening was a truly unforgettable occasion. was never disappointed.

Good food but expect dinner to take at least two hours. We called ahead twice to confirm seating and still had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated. After we were seated it was another 45 minutes before our food order was even taken. By the time our entrees got there we weren't even hungry after having consumed two bottles of wine during the wait. Nice food and people not sure if they were under staffed or what. For the prices though I expect a much higher service level

it's over. if you're a food, save your money and go somewhere else. if you want a good service, a pretty bar and a predictable fan atmosphere, they will be good here. Eating is just like that. the better, more adventurous chefs in rva have continued. they don't work here.

The food was disappointingly bland and uninteresting. My dining partner agreed. She had been there before, and remembered it being much better, however, I had no prior experience to compare it with. The service was good though. Still, I won’t be going back.Food: 3/5 Réservez une table maintenant

Great food. Always great food. Service is usually solid Great stuff.. Sauteed calamari Blood sausages Goat cheese and beet salad Steaks (hangers and ribeyes) Pastas Love the corner location and the open kitchen (makes for great food smells all night).
