Should not be an hour plus from our reservation and then order...for steak knives... let alone our ordered at the same time as drinks, to save time....or let alone, our meduim 6oz fiket steak special plates. $60ea .. to come out. All the other tables ate thier meals, ordered dessert, finished that, and left....while we waited. Unbelievable. ... Also there was an Unbearable stench of 'fishy sewage and BO ' where we sat. That was not ignoreable... Unsure if it was a patron or a server.. we stayed quiet. But I had a migraine freshly began before I got any food. And went from a full room of already ordered party folks.. to just us.. waiting...for a steak mine was chewy and flavorless after all.....
My husband and I have always enjoyed Bacchus House and their food. June 2, we visited Bacchus with two friends and I was moved by the patience and kindness of the staff. As we entered the restaurant a young man who happened to be standing at the entrance, opened the door and welcomed us in. Kayla promptly introduced herself as our waiter and asked if we were celebrating an event. One friend said, well, we 're alive! and Kayla jovially responded that she could go along with that. I have been here numerous time with my girlfriends and with couples and it has always been excellent. This time was a monumental disappointment. We were hosting a special dinner with family of 10. Family who had never been here. I was extremely embarrassed that it was so bad given how often I have bragged about it. Our reservation was at 5:30om but we didn't.even get our salads/soup until 7:00. The main entree arrive around 7:20pm and some of the meals were lukewarm and not fully cooked. The menu is light but you should find something to like. Also, it is an expensive place to eat but the food is good and worth the price. The waitress was very under standing and friendly. In fact, all the employees were polite and accommodating. The restaurant's location is the biggest drawback to the overall atmosphere. The patios are small and right next to the road and parking lot. The inside is more attractive and they do the best with the room available. My wife and I ordered the filet mingnon special. It took over an hr to arrive and tasted like nothing I would have been happy with just salt and pepper. Our meals with 1 flight off wine came to $200 and it definitely wasn't worth the price. The lettuce wraps are an appetizer but they made a great lunch. My wife had the beef dip. It was Mouthwatering with creamy horseradish. The decor is collectable fancy rabbit comprised of rabbits attired in many fancy outfits. The server was polite, accurate and fun.
