One of my favourite places to eat a superb dinner ist the restaurant Bachmühle at Niedermuhlern. Four weeks ago also the whole federal council of Switzerland has been visiting this place because it is famous for elaborate, seasonal, organic food and artful presented dishes. Niedermuhlern is a small village above Köniz and you reach it within 15 minutes driving by car from Bern or with the post van wich stops right in front of this 100 years old tavern. In this former mill you find two rooms to eat in a romantic and cosy atmosphere: the bar parlour and the saloon. We have visited the above mentionned restaurant for a birthday dinner. The service was excellent, the food very tasty and we felt very comfortable. If you look for a special treat the Bachmühle is the place to go. The portions are not huge but you don't get up hungry.
