the backöfele has been an institution in Wurzburg for many years. it is mentioned in almost all tourist guides, so the other can be quite large. after a longer break we were thrilled how the backöfele beats in comparison to our memory. we had a table on a Saturday evening reserved for the ambiente has already been written a lot. the restaurant is large and the tables are distributed over various flats and rooms. the noise was enormous, the air was thick. our table was in a smaller space which was even worse ventilated than the rest of the local. the table was too small for the four people, a proper opportunity for the garderobe was not present. the service seemed overwhelmed, the steak card...
To be honest, I cannot fully understand the negative critikens at the backöfele. I find that the backöfele is a really beautiful, rustic, Franconian restaurant in the heart of the old town of Wurzburg. you sit very cozy in the converted barn area or in the restaurant everything very old, heavy and wooden. about the quality of the food I can complain typical Franconian dedication. of course not quite cheap, but quality has its price price and performance ratio fits my opinion. also the backöfele has a outstanding selection of Franconian weeps. also the backöfele offers lunch for seven euro smooth . therefore always like to come; especially also wg. of friendly staff. so far no bad experiences...
we ordered in the last week 3 x cups and 1 x meat box with bratkartoffeln. the carvings tasted after nothing, the skin was completely burned and therefore not edible. the sauce was already covered with a layer of fat while serving. the meat cube was also not better, the bratkartoffels were before fat, the sauce and drunk. in the last 20 years we have not been eaten as badly as here. they live in bachöfele only from the picture, but certainly not offered from the quality. by the way, no service person has considered necessary to use the phone. for 45 minutes they just ring the phone.
I know the owner from the past. the local itself is rustic and cozy. here you get Franconian cuisine. the device is somewhat gambley. to thirst the local one. for romantic evenings but certainly recommended. the service is nice and accommodating.
