We moved from California to Portugal in Feb. 2019, just a month after Bacos Wine Bar opened. We found out about it in March and enjoyed a few lovely meals and experiences just the two of us. We i stantly fell in love with the owners Miguel and Madalena and asked if we could adopt them I to our family. When my wife 's sister and her husband came to visit, we had to take them there as they love food and wine. They had a good-sized menu and we had tried a few of the dishes but since there were now 4 of us, we decided to eat one of every other item on the menu! We were there for almost 3.5 hours and did our share of drinking and laughing and having o e of the most fun restaurant experiences ever...
Cozy wine bar upstairs on a terrace courtyard. Relax on some cushioned cozy seating or sit on some bar stools surrounding a wine barrel or table service if you prefer. Great wines and delicious, unique dining options. Owners are very knowledgeable and friendly about their wine offerings. Lunch was duck confit pie with leeks and carrots with a side salad topped with pomegranates. Also a salad of hand carved ham, cheese, figs, hazelnuts, fresh greens. We will definitely go back. Just a really overall nice place.
As brand new residents of Caldas da Rainha, we were looking for place to celebrate my husband's birthday. We stumbled upon Baco's Wine Bar, which turned out to be a most memorable evening and one we knew would become a regular event for us! Miguel, our host, is amazing! Gracious, kind and welcoming, as well as a wealth of information about the area. All of this paled in comparison to the sumptuous meal he created especially for us. Baco's is well worth a visit, or two, or three, or twelve!
This place is a gem, we wanted somewhere to just relax and have a nice glass of wine, and decided try Baco. We had prawns, picapau and salad with goats cheese all nhammy and fresh, the couple who is the owners made our visit extra special, PS try they wine and creme brulé the best ever as perfect finish. This is definitely on our top list of memorable places, sorry no pictures because we ate all before remember to take them Réservez une table maintenant
This was a fantastic find! We had shrimps, pica pau and chocolate cake. Everything was amazing in taste! We had had pica pau only a few days before at another place and were very disappointed. This place, it tasted just perfect, and was made with the most tender meat I’ve ever tasted! The wine comes from her own family’s vineyards and tasted great together with the food. You’re missing out if you do not go here!
Up on the terrace level, Baco Restaurant Wine Bar is a small bistro with big ideas and the skills taste to match! The husband and wife team create meals that you will dream about later. The perfectly dressed salad with caramelized goat cheese is a tour de force ' . A thoughtful and reasonable wine list and beautifully presented plates add to the pleasure.
Very nice experience, cosy wine bar with delicious tapas made from fresh ingredients. Wondeful wines with good explanations by Miguel. We went there 2 evenings in a row because we were not only charmed by the hosts, a young couple, but also by the friendliness and the “feel at home” sentiment.
Fabulous food, and wine using local products . Miguel, the owner, has a true passion for what he does and the experience we had with him and his conversation was delighful. We both travel a lot and this was one of the best. Try the Ninfa wines. Lovely. Réservez une table maintenant
