This beautiful restaurant is located about 200m from the railway station Schmerikon at Obersee. Surprisingly enough you can reach this place in less than one hour by train from Zurich Central. From Schmerikon there are two ships (I think one at 12:00 and another one at around 15:00 that go as far as Zurich and there are trains every 30 minutes to get back to Zurich via rapperswil. In our case, we first had a 14 km walk from Rapperswil along side the lake Obersee to Schmerikon (Obersee-Uferweg . It took about 3 hours and it was really lovely. There were some mannerless bikers on the way but generally this hiking course with panorama view is highly recommendable. After the lunch we took train...
the great location of this restaurant made us go in there, quite spontaneously, sitting on there lovely terrace directly over the lake with a view over to the mountains and the little villages on the other side... so beautiful we had lunch, but it had been such a busy day for them , that service and kitchen were not coping all friendly and really trying there best, so we were relaxed and were waiting to place the order, to get the drinks, to get the food, to get the table cleaned and get the bill.happens but unfortunately the food was not too well, pity because if that would have been alright i would not have rated as a poor restaurant.... the fish was overdone, hard, the greens and the sala...
Der wunderschöne Betrieb am Obersee hat uns einmal mehr begeistert. Frau Kälin Reiter im Restaurant sowie Herr Reiter in der Küche machen seit Jahren einen ausgezeichneten Job. Hier fühlen wir uns wohl. Die Preise, sicher etwas höher als in einer Pizzeria, sind absolut gerechtfertigt. Die Qualität der verwendeten Produkte stimmt und auch die servierten Portionen sind grosszügig bemessen. Natürlich ist im Bad am See immer Fisch angesagt, diesmal Felchen Halb/Halb für meine Frau und Felchen mit frischen Eierschwämmen für mich. Die BAG Auflagen wurden zu 100% umgesetzt hier fühlen wir uns sicher. Gut gestärkt und einmal mehr mit einer positiven Erfahrung im Rucksack traten wir unseren Rückmarsc...
Dear Federspiel family and crew thank you very much for the delicious meal with you in the Bad am See restaurant. I feel very comfortable in my hands and would definitely come again. We can highly recommend this restaurant, the service, the food and the ambience are perfectly coordinated and it is absolutely worth a visit.
