Cafe Knobel is known as a great bakery with breakfast, lunch and dinner. During hunting season it offers for a limited time at year end game which was hunted locally in buffet style. You have to reserve a place early on. I visit Knobel for lunch frequently and enjoy their good quality. Their hunting season buffet was superior to any game I had so far. My wife and myself enjoyed the meat and the top prepared fitting vegetables. The atmosphere was very nice and cosy and you could see on all people that happy smile.
Along the main road in Altendorf a very nice spot for a stop and having breakfast or just a simple coffee and buying the bread or pastry for the afternoon tea. One of their specialities is an almond trout a sweet pastry simply excellent. There are parking spots around the place on a busey saturday you may have to use one a around the corner. All within 5 minutes walking distance.
Wonderful variety of freshly made dishes but not an over-full menu. Extremely friendly and helpful staff, even when a mix-up happened no one got stressed. Only a 4 because there was a shortcut product I can’t eat being used, but my inquiry was honestly answered and I ordered something else just as yummy. Shame this place isn‘t closer to home
