Well I don’t usually write reviews but I had to do this one . We are all aware of the rising cost of food and basically everything around us today but there is a difference in raising the cost of your menu and approaching ridiculous pricing or in another words “Rip Off” This place is now robbing you !! Today I ordered a turkey sandwich a drink $18.00 … the drink in the refrigerator was warm so I asked for a cup of ice and I was told there was a charge for ice .50 cents. Now I can certainly afford .50 cents more but that is the first time in my life I was ever told you had to pay for a cup of ice …. Ridiculous ! Food was good, I ordered a chicken cutlet on a roll with usual toppings. Sandwich was like 17.50. I know prices are up now so thats not what bothered me, the fact that after I ordered I look up at the specials menu and there were a multitude of specials on “Heros” therefore larger sandwiches with near identical toppings to what I ordered that also included a side salad wasn’t suggested by staff (I just got a sad lonely pickle on the side lol). It’s Kinda messed up to run someone’s tab up for a smaller sandwich that did not bring a side salad that goes for the same price as your specials. This restaurant is terrible, their bagels are not good. The ownership is very cheap, as they don't even provide napkins with your bagel. On top of that, a bagel, small iced coffee, and a bottle of water cost a ridiculous fifteen dollars. To put it into perspective, for just five dollars more, I could buy a whole pizza from Colosseo's and feed a family of four. It feels like the owners are taking advantage of their customers with extremely high prices.
If you are looking for the typical LI breakfast or lunch. This is the place to go. Best bagels, egg sandwiches heros in town. Bagel Gourmet has great customer service and any special orders are welcome. You can eat in or take out. They have catering as well. Having grown up in Long Island and being away for 30 years, I had a hankering for a good ham, egg cheese on a roll from a true deli. Bagel Deli did not disappoint. The staff was very friendly, the service quick and the food and coffee wonderful I definitely recommend and don't understand why there are not deli's like this in other areas of the country.
I have enjoyed everything I have ordered at this restaurant! Even when there was a mistake with my order, which only happened once, the food was still delicious. The staff is always friendly and efficient. I even received a complimentary sandwich for the mistake during my next visit.
