Extremely slow service and disappointing experience. Ordered the 3 prawns (which we were unaware were 9 euros each, menu being unclear). We took the head off and some sort of fluid squirted across the whole table. We were so put off we asked the waiter to take them away as we did not want to eat them. We also asked the prawns to come at the same time as the paella we ordered, which didn’t happen. Staff barely spoke English and we were also served a different beer to what we ordered. We then ended up waiting an hour and 15 minutes for the paella to arrive. When it came to paying the bill, they were charging us for the prawns. We argued against paying for it to then speaking to the chef who was also the “manager”, who patronised us into thinking “we didn’t know prawns if we didn’t expect that”. There was no apology, no option but to pay. Rude service and wouldn’t recommend. Plenty of other restaurants along the promenade.
From the beginning, we were welcomed very warmly. The staff was polite and friendly, eager to help. The place was clean and nicely decorated. The food was extraordinary. We had the red prawn paella, which is perfect for two, even three. Just delicious. It’s very close to the beach, and in the evening it was delightful to stay outside.
