My wife and I make Indian food on a regular basis. When we want to relax and not cook, but we still want Indian food, we always have Bamboo on our list of favorites. If you want a traditional yellow curry dish, they are the place to get it. If you like spicy, (not the Medford definition of spicy, which is wimpy), the curry at it hottest is only enough to make you nose run slightly, but not hot enough to need bread or milk to cool the palate. So ask for the hottest they can make it. Anything but spicy is just fake Indian food.
During my first visit to this restaurant, I was accompanied by another European and was impressed by its resemblance to a high-class dining establishment in London. The attention to detail was excellent, the food was exquisite, the wine list was superb, and there were even better wines available upon request. In my opinion, this is one of the top restaurants in Medford, and the absence of a restaurant tax due to its location in Ashland is a bonus. I would definitely return for another visit.
For the price this is one of Medford's best places. This is a faster paced place with an open bright atmosphere. Service is friendly and efficient. Food is always cooked to exacting standards. Prices are $12-$25 for entrees. This is for people who are adventurous and are ok with possibly unique or good spicy food. Wine list is passable.
A bit of a shopping-center atmosphere. Presentation of food ranks with flavor at a 4.5, but the salmon is farm-raised and the halibut is pre-broiled. Staff is friendly and it's not an uncomfortable place, but for $60 (including 15% tip) I may have been happier cooking the same food myself if someone else did the dishes. Lunch was excellent. Loved the fact that for $1.00 more you could order 2 main dishes. Chicken Pad Thai and Chicken Satay was exceptional. The Icelandic Tempura Cod was crisp and perfectly prepared. BBQ Ribs Great. Jasmine Rice and Cucumber salad have wonderful flavor. The best Asian Fusion/food in the Rogue Valley.
We used to drive to Ashland for our weekly night out. That is, until we met some friends there for a small get-together. We felt foolish for having spent so much time driving when the best food in the valley was right here in Medford. We dine there at least twice monthly and are NEVER disappointed.
The relaxed yet refined atmosphere is incredibly calming. This restaurant is perfect for couples with different dietary preferences. There are plenty of vegetarian options for me to choose from, while my husband can enjoy a variety of savory beef, pork, chicken, or seafood dishes.
