Bj Ryan's Banc House can be quite hit or miss. The oysters are usually large and fresh, but since they’re served unlabeled, it’s hard to tell which is which. I tried a combo with crab legs and lazy bacon—the crab legs were excellent, but the lazy bacon (pork belly) was tough and overcooked. Another time, I ordered a seasonal mixed drink, but it was so heavily vodka-forward that it was almost undrinkable. The crabby pretzels were delicious, though. The lobster roll was just average and could use improvement. Fantastic place! I recently moved to Norwalk less than seven months ago, and I can't emphasize enough how generous their portions are! As a southerner, I'm all about the big servings, and this restaurant definitely delivers. I'm a man weighing over 200 pounds, and I often find that I can get three meals out of just one visit. You can expect to take some leftovers home. Whether it's beef ribs, chicken, pork, or crab, everything is delicious. Honestly, when I'm hungry and unsure of what to eat, I just head diagonally across the street from my condo. Lucky me!
I went to Bj Ryan's Banc House for drinks and dinner before heading to the Wall St. Theater, and it exceeded my expectations! The service was fantastic, earning a perfect 10+. The shrimp appetizer was outstanding! The pulled pork sandwich was so generous that I was able to make two sandwiches out of it. The crab cakes were delicious, with minimal filler, and also deserving of a 10+! The drinks were reasonably priced and really enjoyable. I can’t wait to go back!

My son took me out to dinner at Banc House on River Street, and it was wonderful! Our waitress, Kim, was fantastic—thank you, Kim! The food was exceptional, and I can’t wait to return! I also enjoyed little neck clams as an appetizer.
This is an excellent spot for enjoying the raw bar or delicious BBQ. If you're catching a show at the Wall Street Theater, it's the ideal place to stop before and after the event.
Consistently excellent food and outstanding service. The ribs and wings are always fantastic.
