Bandana's -b-q Fairview Heights, Il

I don't usually visit chain restaurants, but I made an exception to pick up my husband, and he chose Bandana's. I ordered the Budget Busters, which included turkey, green beans, and BBQ beans. The turkey and green beans were good—not exceptional, but certainly enjoyable. However, the BBQ beans? They were incredibly sweet, almost overwhelming! It was not what I expected, and I probably should have asked about them beforehand. After finishing his lunch, my husband ordered the Caramel Apple Granny with ice cream, and he was really pleased with that! I decided to skip dessert, given the surprising sweetness of the BBQ beans.

Our waitress Rhi is always a delight to encounter. The food consistently meets high standards, and the service is outstanding. As for child-friendliness, there are plenty of options for kids. On the downside, parking can be quite limited and tightly packed, so you'll have to make do with what's available.

There was only one other table with guests the whole time we were there. I/we found it (food and service) pretty good. Brisket was a little dry for my taste. Pork sandwich was awesome...turkey was SOOOO moist. And the Donut Holes were wicked good....kinda like beignets from New Orleans

Budget Buster Chicken was half the size I got last month. They also feel the pinch. Besides this good food and great service.
