We have been to Salt Lik many times before and really look forward to the amazing food we always have and the very accommodating gluten free options. But we were beyond disappointed with the menu changes that have happened and the food was barely mediocre. They gave very few gluten free options, and they even told us the mashed potatoes came in a box that says it could have trace amounts of gluten, so they don't even make their own potatoes now, they're instant potatoes. What a sad fall from the amazing options like the scalloped potatoes they used to make. I got the calamari as a starter, which I have gotten before and it isn't even the same, just giant rubber chunks with no batter instead...
gastgeberin was nice and quick with our commands. her burger was juicy and loaded with blows. her salate should have a calf, but apparently there was not. the problem to forge the personal, but all she said was “so sad about it”. I wish they could warn the customers what was missing for the day. the steak was ok. Their “Wohl-Den” version is completely burned. the place has to improve and needed more renovations. many tables inside and on the terrace. great place to eat when all surrounding restaurants are full.
Very enjoyable meal in a cozy place assisted by a highly professional staff. During our dinner we’ve been helped by Lucas, a young and dynamic guy who entertained us with great tales about Banff, the snow and overall a superb and attentive service. People like Lucas do make the difference! Kudos to him!
This place is amazing for dinner! Great easy-going but refined atmosphere, food is amazing with flavour combinations and portions, staff is excellent with customer service. One of the better places in Banff.Wagyu carpaccio and Angus burger were amazing! Highly recommended.
