We made the mistake of trying to get a table for dinner in Chatel during half term without a reservation. After trying most of the restaurants in the town and giving up hope, we spotted L'Edelweiss. Although it is a fairly small restaurant they were happy to accommodate our table of 8 (including 4 children) without a booking. The menu is not extensive but we were pleased to see a selection of local dishes. The 4 adults opted for the meat fondue, and it was delicious. It was accompanied by a large bowl of green salad, rice, fries, bread and a variety of sauces. There was so much meat that we couldn't finish it all, although we tried!
