I've been to Barrel twice for brunch and once for happy hour. Each time enjoyed myself. For brunch, I've gotten the waffle with a side of eggs and the honey chicken biscuit. Both were good. The chicken biscuit comes with potato chips but the only con is you can't really substitute the chips for anything like the home fries. But let's get to the best part of brunch, the unlimited mimosas! The unlimited option comes with a decanter of orange juice and cranberry juice, as well as a peach syrup. Our waiter was wonderful, offering great recommendations and making sure our drinks kept flowing. I had the breakfast burrito with carnitas, peppers, onion, and egg, and it was delicious! Currently dining at Barrel, I found the brunch menu to be quite limited, but the food itself was tasty. I ordered the steak and eggs, which was flavorful, especially after adding a generous amount of hot sauce. The main downside was the downstairs bartender, who seemed disinterested and lacked knowledge about mixers. It felt like they pulled a cook from the back to make drinks. He was unengaging and poor at communication, even turning his back on my friend while taking an order. Cool place. Loved the interior décor rustic. Good music playing. Lively atmosphere. Popular. Excellent drinks list, mostly of bourbons and whiskeys and cocktail creations thereof. Small but diverse craft beer list. Tried the Fried Chicken Sandwich and it was great! Service efficient and friendly. Recommended.

This waffle was amazing I'm not the biggest sweets for breakfast person, but this waffle changed my mind. The apple jam spread was to die for, and so was the cream on top. So pleasant and a great twist on a regular breakfast waffle.
Stopped thru here for happy hour after work, I really enjoyed myself. The place is comfortable clean, service is immaculate and drinks are good. The food is good also. This is a nice place I will be back.
A relaxed evening with an excellent selection of Bourbons, and fantastic cocktails for those who prefer something other than Bourbon. We really enjoyed chatting with the bartenders.
Barrel DC was a nice find! A good spot for a heartier cocktail and brunch. The fried chicken was definitely a standout and the staff were quick and friendly!Food: 4/5

Great service and amazing whiskey selection. I got the sausage egg biscuit which was tasty. Great comfort food. Happy I found this place and can’t wait to come back.
Great food and service! I've come here several times and would 100% recommend their brunch. Their breakfast chicken sandwich and chicken and waffle is to die for!
