I visited for the first time and was impressed! The gumbo was delicious with just the right level of spice. I also tried the Cajun Penne Pasta special, which was excellent, loaded with sausages, chicken, and ham—perfectly spiced and a generous portion that left me satisfied and with leftovers to take home. My friend ordered the shrimp dish, which was equally tasty and had a lovely kick to it. The owner, Lisa, was very friendly and we enjoyed chatting with her about the bands that perform there. We will definitely be returning!
Upon entering the Bayou, I was greeted by the friendly staff! The service was excellent! I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of dishes on the Cajun menu. After sampling all the items at our table, I can confidently say that when I return from Florida, the first place I'll visit is the Bayou! Thank you, Lisa, for making my experience so enjoyable!
This is my favorite restaurant on Long Island. Apart from eating fantastic, the atmosphere and the staff are also amazing. If you like Cajun food and have not been here, you need to visit ASAP! And, don't worry, there are many non-picy dishes to choose if you can't take the heat.
First time at The Bayou and I was very impressed with everything!! The Black Voodoo Catfish was HOT as advertised and fantastic (if you love spicy food). The Cajun Fries were delicious. Jim the bartender was great and the drinks were top notch.

Fantastic restaurant! The food is amazing and the service is outstanding. The black shrimp was delicious, making every bite a delight. I’m already looking forward to experiencing the festive atmosphere and indulging in the food again!
Ive been coming here for a few years now and have never been disappointed! Great Food Great Place to come and have a great time!
