We held an all-day meeting in the Buckland Suite at the hotel. The room was spacious and bright, making it very pleasant. Its location is convenient, just inside the main entrance on the right near Reception. The hotel and the surrounding area are beautiful. The women's restrooms are clean and well-equipped, complete with comfortable sofas for relaxing. There’s a fantastic variety of teas available, and the buffet lunch was impressive. I had a lovely stay at this hotel, enjoying both dinner and breakfast. The only minor disappointment was that the TV wasn’t a smart model, which made it impossible to connect our phones, and there were no plugs located near the bed—something that feels essential these days. However, our executive room was very cozy and the bed was incredibly comfortable. I especially loved the mirror and table, which made applying my makeup easy, especially with the helpful desk lamp. The wardrobe was spacious enough for our belongings, and while we received robes, the in-room iron didn’t work. Thankfully, we were able to get one from reception. We took my 92-year-old mother-in-law to Beales for afternoon tea, and it was a delightful experience. The hotel has a contemporary and inviting atmosphere, and the restaurant staff were very attentive. The afternoon tea itself was delightful, offering plenty of delicious treats for the three of us. We ended up with more food than we could finish, so they kindly packed it up in a take-home box and even included three little pots of jam for the scones we took home. I highly recommend the afternoon tea at Beales, and I would definitely visit again.
I went to a party here in June and I have to say that the food was lovely but the bar staff didn't know what they were doing at all. It wasn't even really that busy. Even the manager was having a dispute with a member of the public and really needs some customer service skills. There was no clocking who was next in line to serve (which could cause arguments in itself) the manager that was on this night got my drink wrong 3 times. I was truly impressed with my experience. The room was beautifully decorated and had excellent amenities. While the artwork on the walls may not align with my personal taste, it was definitely intriguing. The restaurant served outstanding main dishes and desserts. It was unfortunate that we were the only diners on a very quiet Friday night, as the food was so well prepared.
A conference room was hired for a personal reception. Staff at the hotel are polite and helpful. The food prepared was fresh and very nice. The disabled toilet was clean and easily accessible. Disabled parking is available but limited. Unfortunately it is not the most attractive building although the interior was smartly furnished and modern.
We love dining out, and yesterday we discovered an excellent restaurant that we hadn't heard of before. Our experience there was delightful, with exquisite dishes, a well-trained staff, and a professional chef. We've added this place to our list and will definitely return soon. We highly recommend it!
I had a wonderful two-night stay here for work. The room was very comfortable and pleasantly quiet, away from the main road. The hotel bar is well-stocked, and the restaurant offers good quality meals. If you're looking for more affordable dining options, just head out of the hotel and turn left. Interesting hotel. I've stayed a few times before and thought it to be better than it was. Pleasant enough. I stayed on. Tuesday so it was quiet. I had a burger which was pretty decent to be fair although what hotel has no mayonnaise?? This one. Rooms were pretty good overall a good stay.
