Visited early in the week as a family group having booked. We all just had pizza 's and desserts. We were slightly disappointed that some of the specialities, such a 'Pizza with Snails Garlic Butter ' one containing chicken gizzards had been scratched off the menu. However those sampled were enjoyed particularly a version with thinly sliced duck breast. A few traditional Italian varieties were listed, but not 'Napolitana ' with olives, anchovies capers which would have been tempting. There thin hand rolled bases are particularly note worthy as is the effect of their wood burning oven. Puds went down well all round, particularly there Crème Brulee. Service was a drawback. Whilst very friendly, our mains took 40 minutes to arrive, then the desserts a further 30 minutes. Being a party, we had plenty of chatter to occupy ourselves, but if we hadn 't 2 hours 30 minutes for 2 courses would have been un acceptable.
We felt that we needed to visit this restaurant as many friends had said to us how nice it was, so visit we did : We reserved for a Friday evening, a table of four. The owner gentleman was so pleasant and polite over the phone, he even gave me detailed directions of the easiest route from our village. We had wonderful pizzas with salad followed by very yummy desserts, all of generous proportions. We saw the old bread oven in use to cook the pizzas, such a lovely thing to see. The owner and his wife were delightful and we had a good natter : Will definitely return and we recommend.
Not much is open in France on a Sunday, but we were recommended this lovely place. Thank goodness we were early as it soon filled and the service was stretch. But the French don't mind they just drink another glass of wine. Its an Italian restaurant specialising in pizzas and pasta from a real wood fired over. The food is very tasty and served with enthusisaim. Great value and while you are waiting drinking some wine in the lovely garden is to be enjoyed especially on a warm summers evening. Great value good food simply served. Cant be beaten for a Sunday night.
We stayed 4 nights in the B B room so ate breakfast and dinner here each day. The owner Pascal and his wife are so welcoming and made our stay one we will remember for all the right reasons. The food here is freshly cooked and the pizzas are amongst the best we've ever had: there are other dishes available too the steak was divine. If you're in the B B, bring some slippers it's not carpeted and it was quite cool when we stayed. Thankyou Pascal for a wonderful stay.
