Have seen Beef and Barley advertised so thought we we would swing by Kingo Foreshore and give it a go. This restaurant segment is crowded and so we went with high expectations. Service was friendly enough upon entering but there is no table service and you need to order from the bar (no problem with this as it is pretty standard for places like this). Our food was OK, we had the Miss Piggy and the El Pedro, and the sides of chips and slaw were very welcome as the burgers were pretty small (the sides come standard with all burgers). $9 for a small bottle of beer (that you have to pour yourself) was also a bit steep IMHO. The burgers were nice enough but not amazing and the size was a let down...
our visit was on a cold winters night , warm welcome from a new staff member with long red hair , she looked like the singer from the 80's called Tiffany , anyhow great food but we were extremely uncomfortable at the benches , even on the stools you could not get your legs under the benches without hitting your knees & feet on the old 205 litre drums , so unable to lean over your tray as the burger dripped its juices , just need a wider benchtop & some background music
We'd heard about Beef and Barley from some friends and thought we'd give it a go. At first I wasn't real excited about burgers and chips - but then... chef son exclaimed - OMG this is the BEST burger I've ever had in my life!We were all avidly consuming the fare and I love the chips and hand-cut coleslaw with house-made aioli. Yummo!
Had lunch with some work colleagues at the Beef and Barley in Kingston. The menu was fairly limited with burgers and sandwiches. There was a good selection of beers and the food was good and reasonably priced. Great location on the Kingston Foreshore. Overall good location for lunch.

We come here every week. Absolutely love the staff, and the burgers are fantastic. Bit pricey, but delicious. Would love them evem more if they could add SWEET POTATO CHIPS to their menu!
We visited with a voucher, prices were resturaunt level but drinks were expensive. Food was yummy and we walked out full. Cramped in the outdoor area but heaters were nice

Forget Brodburger - Beef & Barley puts out one of the best burgers I've ever had. The meat tastes like meat should and was cooked to perfection.

Yes, the beef in Australia is definitely differentHowever I must say I was very impressed with the staff and the food quality.
Love Georgie. Most friendly and ccommodating staff member. If I had a cafe...she'd be the first I'd hire!!
