we didn't want to drive directly from the charters towers to emerald, so a night-stop-over here would be good. we have booked a powered site, but did not know until we pulled into our place that they had no water, that is in order, we should. have a bit in our tanks. we were in a position for which at night another plus on a night stay. our problem was the internet service was intermittent in camp and there was no TV reception. we put our equipment in the bar on the afternoon, hoping that the reception could be better, it was only marginal. we decided to eat dinner in the roadhouse to set up the weber for a night. there were only six items on the menu and we chose the lamb juices that, as it...
We did a little roadtrip , , Townsville, McKay, , Clermont,Charters Towers Townsville. Great to remind ourselves of the outback, , this sort of quick getaway is just enough to blow away the cobwebs, watching the country change as you are driving, , arriving into Belyando Croosing is likened to a beacon in the wilderness, , the friendly staff were really helpful, the big labrador dog lying in the foyer, a good sized caravan park , made our arrival very comfortable, the room was basic but comfortable enough for what we were doing, during the night we had rainfall that was so loud accompanying lightening and thunder,, wonderful, in the morning we went to check the creeks but were surprised that...
Got fuel, drove away from bowsers to park in shade near the memorial. Manager came out and told us to move as road trains enter from over the hill. I suggested they would need a license test if they reckoned we were in their road....Immediate verbal attack from manager lady who was belittling and argumentative telling us she had a bad day and we needed to leave. Same lady was treating staff terribly. Service hasn’t improved…her time would have been better spent improving customer service and taking the time to train her backpacker staff . And not one truck parked in the business while she was abusing me.
A good stop between Charters Towers and Emerald. Not a lot else around. It has petrol and a toilet. Coffee and hot food. Some minor souvenirs. BUT if you stop don't just use the toilet go inside and buy a coffee or...buy something. We need these places on the road and they provide a good service. Don't just take advantage of their generosity ie the toilets. Easy parking out the front and a good place to stretch the legs. Friendly service.

The current caretakers of this restaurant are doing an excellent job. They are friendly and helpful. I have visited this place in the past and it was not up to par, but this time was a much better experience. The prices for fuel, coffee, and breakfast rolls were all reasonable compared to other nearby places. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience.
The service at the Roadhouse restaurant was very nice, actually fabulous. The restaurant was full, but the dining experience was fantastic and the atmosphere was great. We can't complain at all. We stayed at the motel which was very dated but clean. We would definitely come back anytime!
We stayed in the camp ground, facilities we clean and tidy. Went and had dinner at the bar, fixed menu with 2 choices. We both had lamb cutlets with mash veges. An outstanding meal couldn't fault it. Great portions, well cooked and delicious....Bar was well stocked and service was great.
People are friendly and welcoming, cool green garden areas and easy going. The young staff are efficient and friendly. Enjoyed sitting down and having a cold beer with the locals.

the worst place I ever stopped. the toilets are not working, unclean and broken fittings. fuel very expensive. you are better off in a free camp nearby
Stayed a night in the caravan park and had it to ourselves. Staff friendly and helpful and meals good roadhouse food.
