I want to start off by saying my wife and I love Benihana’s, but this was by far the worst experience I’ve had at the chain. You could just tell it wasn’t being managed well that night. We had made reservations for people at and we arrived minutes early. We had to wait about half an hour to be seated. As we waited, there was a family who had been waiting for over an hour to be seated just to be told they had to wait another hour and a half. There must’ve been some miscommunication, but they were not happy. A police officer had to be brought in to kick the angry family out. It was pretty clear that the staff didn’t care about that family so I began to worry about how our experience was going to go. We were finally seated to a dirty table surrounded by a greasy dirty floor. Even some of the plates were greasy! The server comes in minutes later to tell us no one had told her we were her table and that her other tables were on the other side of the restaurant. I won’t complain about her as she was very nice and the best she could given the circumstances, but it was obvious she wasn’t given a good situation. The food comes out pretty quickly which I commend, but it also felt as if we were being rushed out of there as fast as possible. Usually they serve you soup, salad, and any other appetizers before the chef arrives so have something to eat while the chef arrives, but this time the chef arrives first and started cooking before we even got our appetizers, which means I had to quickly eat my appetizers before the main course was served. When I did get my food, the egg in the fried rice was burned and my chicken was tough. I’ve never had this problem in any other Benihana’s. Finally, the sever informs us they are all out of ice cream, which is supposed to come with the meal. No discount or apologies from management. My wife and I were very disappointed that night
