What a shame. First time trying since take over so we did a sort of pick and mix. Chips, battered sausage, savaloy cod and pie. Decent size medium portion of chips however the were just luke warm. Savaloy stone cold and full of actual water, was sat in water bath under the lights. Fish very thin batter and chewy....and cold. Battered sausage, batter is almost non exsitant, the only thing at correct temperature. Pie...Stone cold. I'm sure food has to be kept at 63 degrees or above. It's probably one of the worst chip shops I've ever eaten from. 3 people in front of me, and i waited 40 minutes for fish, chips battered sausage, and a Donna kebab. Fish was chewy and dry. The batter on the sausage was also dry and none crispy. Donna meat was like the frozen stuff you get out of Iceland. Never again. Worst meal ever. First time trying since it has been taken over and definitely the last. Chips were dry,. Sausage was white, no meat content and inedible. Fish was dry, chewy and also inedible and the kebab had no flavour and very poor quality. Added to the fact that there was a long wait I would not return and would NOT recommend. bens chippy is the best fish and chip shop is thrapston and the environment. in over 10 years we had only first-class fish and chips. eating is cheap and the staff is super friendly. this fish and chip shop in thrapston is highly recommended.

I used to go here all the time as the owners daughter was a coeliac but I’m yet to try it since changing hands. They still offer gluten free on specific days though.
Since the new management, there are extensive improvements in food and services. good portion sizes and other options. Thank you. Nico employees.
