To be clear: there's maybe like three seats at the sushi bar, so don't assume that this is some hip and happening sushi joint you can drop by; it's literally grab-n-go sushi in Safeway first and foremost. That said, back to the review: You know, until I saw this listing, it didn't even occur to me that this was anything other than an in-market sushi thing run by Safeway itself. I'm surprised it's actually a franchised operation, standardized and everything. I also don't recall the Bento name, so I figured this was a recent change. Honestly, if it weren't for the photos, you’d never suspect this place is just a grocery store. It's unusual to see a grocery store's sushi section highlighted on Yelp, but they prepare the sushi right there, which might explain the attention. If you don't go early, your options will be limited; it’s definitely more of a grab-and-go experience. I’ve sampled a few rolls, and they’re decent—nothing special, just typical grocery store sushi. They do provide private parking, and service is not really necessary here. The grocery store itself is one of my favorites; it’s clean and generally well-stocked if you go early!

I've attempted to enjoy sushi at Bento Sushi on three separate occasions, and each time I've left feeling disappointed. The sushi lacks freshness, giving the impression that it was prepared earlier in the day. I even spotted a couple of plates from last week still displayed, and they appeared quite unappealing. I would suggest considering a reduction in your hours from 24 to just 4 hours a day; this change could benefit both the management and the quality of the food served.

I actually drove out of my way to find this place... it's a grocery store sushi section! Completely disappointed. Old fish, no quality and made in the early morning so I wouldn't eat it for dinner. Disappointing! Réservez une table maintenant
