Walked to Hartington from home fully intending to grab a bite to eat here. We arrived at 13.40pm and so had a good hour to dine then get the bus back. We had different meals: bacon, brie cranbury and hot crusty bread, and the second meal was a big breakfast but had 2 x eggs plus an oatcake, and a pot of tea for two. It was all absolutely fantastic, large, tasty and great value for money. A quick tub of raspberry ripple ice-cream finished it off perfectly. Apart from the great food the service and staff were absolutely wonderful....... Top notch. Lovely people that go above and beyond with a smile. I recommend 100% and we shall be regulars, but I think we'll drive there in future. A big thank...

This restaurant is a hidden treasure in a charming village. We stopped in for lunch a few days ago and it was fantastic. The food was delicious and the staff, including Jess and Anna, were very friendly, accommodating, and cheerful. We ordered a ham baguette, sausage and cheese baguette (both served with salad, coleslaw, and crisps), a milkshake, a pot of tea (with extra water), and nothing was left behind - not even a crumb! We also picked up a Bakewell slice and carrot cake for takeaway. We were too full for ice cream, unfortunately. Thank you to Beresford for the exceptional service, we will definitely be back soon. Andy and Jane.

Unfortunately, we have had two disappointing experiences at this cafe recently. The staff we encountered during our visits were abrupt and somewhat rude to us. Despite our efforts to be friendly as a large group of friends, we were met with an unwelcoming atmosphere. We stayed for our drinks and left. It appears that we may have visited on two off days, as other reviews that initially drew us to this cafe do not indicate this type of welcome is the norm.

Lunch after a walk after 5 mile walk nearby. Brought my own gluten free bread but no need. Anne herself a coeliac guided me through the menu and promised either cheese or fruit scone with cream and jam if I wanted after my delicious toasted panini with bacon, Brie and cranberry, along with decent salad, crisps and coleslaw. I was too full! Great place, wonderful service and you can use the Post Office.
