The walk from Saalburg Ruins to this restaurant is some kilometres, you can drive of course but we all chose to walk. The walk up was on a slight incline all the way and views of Frankfurt to die for., once there, warm and...friendly atmosphere with hand case mit musik wonderful and a large variety of beer, wine and schnapps. English and most nationalities frequent so they understood what we all had to say in varying languages. The food is good, well prices (not expensive at all) and the views are wonderful. Staff and warm and welcoming and the chef even comes out to check all is well also. When we were there the tables were all pretty much full but we didnt have to wait more than a minute.,...

In beautiful weather great panoramic views from the tower. Restaurant very pleasant, not too narrow with large outdoor areas in beautiful weather. Supernettes, attentive staff. Dogs no problem. The unexpected highlight was the excellent food. I ordered because vegetarian handcuffs field salad apple ragout. What's so simple, it's an absolute taste experience. The dish was creatively spiced and wonderfully dressed. At this point again thumbs up for the cook.

Should you be on a hike between Saalburg and Sandplacken you should not miss Herzbergtum for the magnificent view and the Berggasthof for a Kaffee und Kuchen or a real meal. The menu is not long, the meals are simple but good an filling. We...have also celebrated a birthday up there, it was great!
